The single biggest reason same-day slots fall through is preparation. The scanner is ready and the radiographer is waiting, but a missing piece of paperwork or an unresolved metal question pushes the scan to the next morning. Four things to have sorted before you walk in:

Metal safety check ahead of arrival. The clinic will send a safety questionnaire covering pacemakers, cochlear implants, metal fragments in the eye, aneurysm clips and recent surgical implants. Complete it at booking, not on arrival. Anything flagged needs a radiographer review before the slot can hold.
