Pulse Atlas Health (“we”, “us”) is an independent health information publication based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
Data we collect
If you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your name and email address. When you use our website we also process technical data such as IP address, device type and pages viewed, via essential, analytics and advertising cookies (see our Cookies notice).
Why we use your data
We use your name and email address to send the newsletter you have subscribed to. Technical data helps us keep the site secure and understand which guides are useful. If you accept advertising cookies, data about your device and browsing is used by Google AdSense to show and measure ads on the site, which helps fund it.
Legal basis
Our legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent when you subscribe, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website. For analytics cookies we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the guides are used; they are on by default and you can switch them off at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. For personalised advertising we rely on your consent, which you can give using Cookie settings; until then only non-personalised ads are shown. You can withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with clinics or clinicians. If you accept advertising cookies, Google and its advertising partners receive data about your device and browsing as independent controllers, under Google’s own policies. We use standard operational service providers (for example, email delivery and hosting) who process data on our behalf under written agreements.
How long we keep it
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Aggregated analytics data may be kept longer as it does not identify you.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or erase it, to restrict or object to our use of it, and - where applicable - to receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
International transfers
Your personal data is stored on servers located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. We do not routinely transfer personal data outside the UK/EEA. If you accept analytics or advertising cookies, Google may process the resulting data in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards described in its own policies.
