Who's not suitable
When we route you elsewhere.
We would rather send you to the right place than take a booking that does not belong here. These are the situations we route on.
-
Elective circumcision under 4
For elective non-medical circumcision in under-fours, we route to a specialist paediatric surgical partner rather than treat in this adult-focused clinic.
-
Complex reconstructive urology
Peyronies with severe curvature, penile implants and reconstructive work sit outside our scope. We refer to a named tertiary urology unit.
-
Suspected cancer
Any suspicious lump, ulcer or lesion needs the NHS two-week wait pathway. We will help you access it - it should not be paid for privately.
-
Uncontrolled bleeding disorders
If you are on high-dose anticoagulation or have a known bleeding disorder, we arrange assessment before booking rather than proceeding directly.

Frequently asked
The questions Birmingham patients ask most.
Who does the surgery, whether insurance applies, and what happens if something feels wrong afterwards.
-
Who actually does the surgery?
A GMC-registered doctor with a specialist interest in male genital surgery performs the consultation, consent and procedure personally. There is no handover to a trainee, and you meet your surgeon before you commit to booking.
-
Do you accept private medical insurance?
Most of our procedures are self-pay because insurers class them as elective. Where insurance does apply (for example medically indicated circumcision or vasectomy reversal), we recognise Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality and WPA and can invoice directly on request.
-
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer for every procedure listed on this page. If you would like us to write to your NHS GP after treatment we will, but we only do so with your explicit consent.
-
Is a same-day appointment really possible?
For most straightforward adult procedures under local anaesthetic, yes. Once your matched consultant call confirms suitability, we can often see you and treat you on the same visit. Paediatric and Pollock vasectomy bookings are usually staged over two visits for safety.
-
What does aftercare look like?
You leave with written instructions, dressings, contact details and a 24/7 direct line to your surgeon for the first week. Follow-up is booked before you leave and is included in the fixed price. Additional review appointments, if ever needed, are also included.
-
Who do I call if something feels wrong after the procedure?
The 24/7 number in your discharge pack goes to your surgeon or a covering consultant, not a call centre. For anything that cannot wait, attend the nearest A&E and let us know so we can liaise.
