The problem

A page of numbers is not an answer.

Plenty of places will take your blood and email you a PDF. Knowing which tests are worth running, and what the results mean for you, is the part that matters. That is what we do.

  • Not sure which tests?

Tell us your symptoms and we suggest the panel that answers them - not the biggest bundle.

  • Worried about a result?

We explain how significant it is and whether it needs repeating before you panic.

  • Want it done at home?

We arrange a phlebotomist to visit your home or office at a time that suits.

What it shows

Find the test that matches the symptom.

Blood tests answer very different questions. These are the reasons people come to us most.

  • Tiredness & low energy

Checks iron, B12, folate, thyroid and inflammation - the common causes of persistent fatigue.

  • Thyroid function

TSH, T3 and T4 to explain weight, mood, temperature and energy changes.

  • Cholesterol & heart risk

A full lipid profile to understand cardiovascular risk before symptoms appear.

  • Diabetes & blood sugar

HbA1c and glucose to detect pre-diabetes and diabetes early.

  • Liver & kidney function

Checks how these organs are working, and monitors long-term medication.

  • Hormones & fertility

Testosterone, oestrogen and fertility markers for men and women.

  • Vitamins & deficiencies

Vitamin D, B12 and other markers behind unexplained symptoms.

  • A general health check

A broad baseline screen, with the results explained in plain English.

Popular panels

The panels we arrange most.

What each option is actually for.

  • Core health panel

Full blood count, kidney, liver, cholesterol and glucose - the sensible baseline.

  • Advanced health screen

Adds thyroid, vitamins, inflammation and more for a fuller picture.

  • Thyroid panel

TSH, free T3 and T4, with antibodies where indicated.

  • Hormone panel

Male or female hormone profiles, timed to your cycle where relevant.

  • Fertility panel

AMH, FSH, LH and related markers for family planning.

  • Sexual health screen

Discreet, comprehensive screening with fast, private results.

  • Allergy & intolerance

Specific IgE testing, interpreted properly rather than sold as a bundle.

  • Sports & performance

Markers relevant to training load, recovery and nutrition.

Our vetted London network

A small panel of clinics and labs, we picked them.

Preparation and practicalities

One of the safest tests in medicine.

Blood tests are simple, but preparation matters - fasting, timing and medication can all change a result. We tell you exactly what to do.

  • Do I need to fast?

Some tests (cholesterol, glucose) prefer a 8-12 hour fast. We tell you exactly what applies to yours.

  • Timing in your cycle

Some hormone and fertility tests are best on particular days. We book you accordingly.

  • Time of day

Testosterone and cortisol vary through the day and are usually taken in the morning.

  • Medication and supplements

Biotin, steroids and some drugs can skew results. Tell us what you take.

  • Fear of needles

Very common. Tell us and we arrange an experienced phlebotomist and extra time.

  • Recent illness

Infection and inflammation can distort results. Sometimes waiting a week gives a truer picture.

  • Bruising

A small bruise is the most common after-effect and settles in a few days.

  • Pregnancy

Blood tests are safe in pregnancy. Some reference ranges differ, and we interpret accordingly.

  • Children

We use paediatric-experienced phlebotomists and numbing cream where needed.

Reading your report

A results sheet can look intimidating. It isn't.

However many markers are run, the report follows the same four parts.

A quiet reminder

Reference ranges are a guide, not a verdict - context is everything.

If you would like us to talk you through it before your follow-up, just ask.

  1. 01 Header

    Your details and the question

Your details, which tests were run, and the question behind them.

  2. 02 Technique

    How the sample was analysed

Which laboratory ran the tests and the methods used - this is why reference ranges differ slightly between labs.

  3. 03 Findings

    Your results, marker by marker

Each result alongside its reference range, with anything outside the range flagged.

  4. 04 Impression

    The conclusion: read this first

Frequently asked

Everything we get asked about blood tests.

Quick answers on cost, fasting, referrals, home visits and results.

  • How quickly do I get blood test results?

Most routine results are back within 24-72 hours. Specialist panels such as allergy or fertility can take 3-7 days. We tell you the timeline when you book.

  • How much does a private blood test cost in London?

A single test is typically £40-£95, a core health panel £120-£250, and a comprehensive screen £250-£550. We confirm a firm figure within one working day.

  • Do I need to fast before a blood test?

It depends on the test. Cholesterol and glucose usually prefer an 8-12 hour fast; most others do not. We tell you exactly what applies to yours.

  • Do I need a referral?

Most private blood tests accept self-referral. Some specialist tests are better arranged with a clinician, and we can organise a fast-track private GP.

  • Can I have blood taken at home?

Yes. We can arrange a phlebotomist to visit your home or office, usually for £60-£150 on top of the test cost.

  • Will someone explain my results?

Yes - that is the point. You get the full report, and we talk you through what the numbers mean rather than leaving you with a spreadsheet.

  • What if a result is abnormal?

We explain how significant it is, whether it needs repeating, and arrange the right next step - a specialist, a further test, or simple reassurance.

  • Are the labs properly accredited?

Yes. We only use UKAS-accredited laboratories, with results reviewed by a consultant pathologist.

  • Does it hurt?

A brief scratch. If you are anxious about needles, tell us - we arrange an experienced phlebotomist and allow extra time.

  • Will my insurance cover blood tests?

Cover varies. Tests are often covered when medically indicated and pre-authorised, but routine screening is usually self-funded. We check with your insurer.
