Topical anaesthetic for 45 minutes, with an optional injectable local for the jawline or submental area. Treatment itself is 30 to 60 minutes.

Skin is warm, pink and grid-marked. Written aftercare, a mineral SPF, and a gentle post-procedure routine. No dressings, no downtime bed rest.

Early to moderate skin laxity, face and neck
Fine crepiness, a softening jawline, early jowl formation. The sweet spot for Morpheus8, particularly in patients 35 to 55.

Acne scarring (rolling, boxcar)
Deep bipolar RF at 2 to 4mm stimulates dermal remodelling under an atrophic scar. Usually 3 to 4 sessions, sometimes combined with subcision.

Stretch marks and post-partum laxity
Body handpiece over the abdomen, flanks and inner thighs. Improves colour, texture and mild laxity, but will not remove skin excess.

Jawline and submental definition
Deeper 4 to 8mm passes reach subcutaneous fat (SAT), tightening the jowl and reducing a double chin without surgery.

Décolletage crepiness
Sun-damaged chest skin with fine wrinkling. A shallow, gentler protocol tightens without a prolonged mark pattern in a visible area.

Post-weight-loss body laxity
Arms, knees and abdomen after significant weight loss. Sensible for mild to moderate laxity, not a substitute for excisional surgery.

Not the right answer: severe facelift laxity
Marked jowl, deep neck bands or heavy submental laxity are surgical problems. Morpheus8 will disappoint and delay the right operation.

Active acne infection, cold sores in the treatment area, or isotretinoin in the last 6 months are contraindications.

What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling device by InMode. A grid of 24 to 40 gold-plated microneedles enters the skin at selectable depths (0.5 to 8mm) and delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy through their insulated shafts, heating the deeper dermis and subcutaneous fat. That controlled thermal injury triggers collagen remodelling and modest tissue tightening over the following 3 to 6 months.

How is Morpheus8 different from Ultherapy, Thermage and Sofwave?
Morpheus8 uses needles plus radiofrequency and works in a course of 3 to 4 sessions with some downtime. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound in one session at fixed deeper depths with no needles or dot marks. Thermage uses surface monopolar RF, one session, no downtime, gentler effect. Sofwave uses ultrasound at a single 1.5mm depth, one session, mild to moderate lift. Morpheus8 gives the most texture and scar remodelling; Ultherapy and Sofwave give the cleanest recovery.

How painful is it and what is the downtime?
Topical numbing for 45 minutes takes most of the sting away, with an optional injectable local for the jawline or submental area. During the pass patients describe pressure and heat rather than sharp pain. Downtime is a pink, gridded face for 3 to 5 days, mild swelling for up to a week, and full return to makeup at 48 hours.

Is Morpheus8 a replacement for a facelift?
No. Morpheus8 gives mild to moderate tightening and is excellent for early to moderate laxity in patients roughly 35 to 55. For heavy jowls, marked platysmal bands and significant submental laxity, a deep-plane facelift or neck lift will do what no radiofrequency device can. An honest triage matters, which is why we sometimes recommend a surgical opinion instead.

Is Morpheus8 safe in darker skin tones?
Yes, with careful protocol. Because the RF energy is delivered under the insulated needle shafts and largely spares the epidermis, Morpheus8 has one of the better safety profiles across Fitzpatrick IV to VI, especially compared with older ablative lasers. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is still the main risk and is reduced by pre-treatment tyrosinase inhibitors, conservative settings and strict sun avoidance.
