EmSculpt NEO, by a BTL-certified operator.

A 30-minute, no-downtime cosmetic device that pairs HIFEM muscle stimulation with synchronised radiofrequency. Modest, visible tone and fat reduction over the abdomen, buttocks, arms or calves. Not surgery, not a weight-loss treatment. Honest advice included.

Why patients choose us

  • 01

    A BTL-certified operator, not a hired hand

A named practitioner trained by BTL Aesthetics on paddle placement, intensity ramping and RF safety. Not a rotating room assistant.

  • 02

Honest about what a device can and cannot do

EmSculpt NEO tones and reduces a modest layer of fat. It is not a weight-loss treatment and it does not replace surgery. We say so up front.

  • 03

    Independent, and free

We are paid by no clinic, so the recommendation is impartial and costs you nothing.

The journey

From first brief to twelve-week result.

One team from the first message to your final photos, including maintenance planning.

  1. 01

    Before

You send us a short brief

Which area you want treated, your BMI, any implants or metalwork, and photos if you have them. Confidential and quick.

  2. 02

    Before

We come back with a recommendation

Within one working day: whether EmSculpt NEO fits, or whether CoolSculpting, Morpheus8 or a surgical opinion is the better call. Indicative price.

  3. 03

    Before

We book the assessment and course

A face-to-face consultation with the practitioner, then four sessions five to ten days apart at a London clinic that suits your diary.

  4. 04

    On the day

    A single 30-minute session

You lie supine, paddles are strapped over the target muscle, intensity is ramped up, and RF pre-heats the tissue. You feel deep contractions and warmth.

  5. 05

    On the day

    Straight back to work

No incisions, no sedation, no downtime. You walk out and drive home. Some people feel like they have done a hard workout for 24 to 48 hours.

  6. 06

    After

    Results build for 12 weeks

Muscle definition and fat reduction continue improving for around three months after the last session. Photos at baseline, week 4 and week 12.

  7. 07

    After

Maintenance every three to six months

A single top-up session every three to six months to hold results, alongside your own training and diet.

When it helps

When EmSculpt NEO is the right step, and when it is not.

The bodies we see the biggest change on, and the ones we send elsewhere.

  • Post-partum abdomen with rectus separation

A modest diastasis and a soft lower belly that does not respond to core work. NEO stimulates the rectus and reduces the fat layer over it.

  • Non-surgical buttock lift

A rounder, lifted shape from glute stimulation, without fat transfer or implants. Modest change, not a BBL.

  • Arms: biceps and triceps definition

Tone the back of the arms and shape the biceps in patients close to their goal weight who want visible definition.

  • Calves

Build volume in slim calves that will not respond to gym work, using calf-specific paddles.

  • Athletes plateauing on definition

Runners, cyclists and lifters who want abdominal or glute definition beyond what training alone will give.

  • Not for significant obesity (BMI over 30)

NEO is a body-contouring device, not a weight-loss tool. If BMI is above 30, address weight first and come back for shaping.

  • Not for loose skin or heavy skin laxity

RF is mild. Loose post-weight-loss skin is better addressed with Morpheus8, a mini abdominoplasty or a surgical opinion.

  • Not a replacement for liposuction or a BBL

If you want a dramatic change in shape, a surgical opinion is fairer than four sessions of a cosmetic device.

Compared to

NEO sits in a crowded field. Here is how it compares.

CoolSculpting freezes fat but does nothing for muscle. TruSculpt heats fat with RF but lacks the HIFEM depth. Surgery is the honest answer when a device is not enough.

  • EmSculpt NEO (HIFEM + RF)

BTL Aesthetics device combining high-intensity focused electromagnetic muscle contractions with synchronised radiofrequency to warm subcutaneous fat. Muscle building and fat reduction in one 30-minute session.

  • CoolSculpting (cryolipolysis)

Fat only, no muscle. Freezes a pinch of subcutaneous fat which is cleared over 8 to 12 weeks. A better fit if muscle tone is already good and the concern is purely a fat pocket.

  • TruSculpt iD / flex (RF only)

Monopolar RF that heats fat and stimulates modest muscle contraction, but without the HIFEM depth of NEO. Reasonable alternative, generally cheaper.

  • Morpheus8 RF microneedling

For skin laxity and mild dermal remodelling rather than muscle or subcutaneous fat. Often paired with NEO when both fat and skin quality are concerns.

  • Aqualyx and Kybella injections

Injected deoxycholic acid dissolves small localised fat pockets. Targeted and cheaper per area, but does nothing for muscle tone.

  • VASER hi-def liposuction

A surgical option for definition of the abdomen, flanks or arms. Bigger commitment, bigger result, real recovery. The right answer when a device is not enough.

Our vetted London network

A small panel of BTL-certified clinics, we picked them.

Clinics known for careful case selection and standardised photography, not just marketing. Introductions are made privately.

  • Only BTL-certified operators with high case volumes on the specific area you want treated

  • A face-to-face consultation and eligibility check before you commit to a course

  • Standardised photography at baseline, week 4 and week 12, not just marketing shots

  • Clear pathways to surgical or dermatology referral when a device is not the right answer

Safety and expectations

What a session actually feels like, honestly.

EmSculpt NEO is a well-tolerated cosmetic device. The things worth planning are eligibility, session sensation and realistic expectations.

  • A 30-minute session, lying supine

Paddles are strapped over the muscle. Intensity is ramped up over the first few minutes and stays high for around 20 to 25 minutes. Discomfort peaks then eases.

  • 20,000-plus equivalent contractions

BTL quote around 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions per session, alongside RF heating to around 42 to 45 degrees C in the subcutaneous fat layer.

  • Mild soreness for 24 to 48 hours

Most people feel like they have done a hard workout. Warm baths, hydration and light movement help. No painkillers usually needed.

  • No downtime, no incisions

You drive home, work out the next day if you want to, and there are no dressings, bruises or scars to manage.

  • Not suitable during pregnancy

HIFEM and RF are not used in pregnancy or the immediate post-partum period until you have been signed off by your obstetric team.

  • Metal implants in the treatment area

Hip and knee replacements, IUDs in the abdomen field, spinal hardware, cardiac devices and pacemakers are absolute contraindications for the paddles overlying them.

  • Epilepsy and active malignancy

Uncontrolled epilepsy, active cancer in the treatment area and active local infection all rule NEO out until reviewed by your specialist.

  • Realistic expectations

BTL data quotes around 25% muscle mass increase and 30% subcutaneous fat reduction across four sessions. Your result depends on baseline, adherence and lifestyle.

  • It is not a weight-loss treatment

The scales usually do not move. What changes is shape, tone and the fit of your clothes. If weight loss is the goal, address that first.

Reading your treatment notes

Your NEO notes in four parts.

Whichever clinic delivers your course, the record they hand you keeps to the same shape.

  1. 01 Baseline

    Photos, measurements and body composition

Front, side and rear photos in standard lighting, waist and hip measurements, and where available a bio-impedance or DEXA composition read.

  2. 02 Protocol

    Area, paddle placement and intensity

Which paddles were used, where they sat, the intensity you tolerated at each session, and the total treatment minutes.

  3. 03 Findings

    Week-four and week-twelve response

Change in circumference, visible muscle definition and reduction in subcutaneous fat on standardised photos.

  4. 04 Plan

    Maintenance and lifestyle

Whether a maintenance schedule is needed, and how training, diet and sleep will hold or extend the result.

Frequently asked

Everything we get asked about EmSculpt NEO.

Quick answers on weight loss, results, sessions, muscle groups, insurance and downtime.

  • Will I lose weight with EmSculpt NEO?

No. NEO is a body-contouring device, not a weight-loss treatment. The scales usually do not move. What changes is shape and tone: BTL quote around 25% more muscle and 30% less subcutaneous fat over the treated area, so clothes fit differently even at the same weight. If weight loss is your goal, we would rather help you address that first.

  • What results should I actually expect?

Modest but visible. Most people notice firmer muscle tone within four weeks and clearer definition, plus a small reduction in the fat pocket over the treated area, at around twelve weeks. It is a cosmetic device, not surgery. If you are looking for a dramatic change in shape, VASER liposuction, an abdominoplasty or a BBL is a fairer conversation.

  • How many sessions do I need?

A standard course is four sessions per area, spaced five to ten days apart. Some clinics extend to six sessions for larger areas or slower responders. Maintenance is a single session every three to six months, alongside your own training and diet.

  • Which muscle groups can be treated?

Abdomen (rectus and obliques), buttocks (gluteus maximus, medius and minimus), arms (biceps and triceps), and calves. Thighs are treated at some clinics with specific paddle configurations. The device is not used on the face, neck, chest or back.

  • Is EmSculpt NEO covered by private medical insurance?

No. This is a purely cosmetic body-contouring treatment, so UK private health insurers (Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Cigna, Healix) do not fund it. You pay the clinic directly. Some clinics offer stage payments across the four-session course.

  • Is there any downtime?

None. You drive home, return to work the same day and can train the next day if you want to. Most people feel mildly sore for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a hard gym session. There are no incisions, dressings, bruises or scars.
